New for 2020- introducing The Orangery…part of our main greenhouse has been converted into extra seating space for the cafe. It has heating/aircon, is dog friendly, and has a delightful view overlooking our wildlife/veg garden. Why not visit and see for yourself?
Voted ‘Best in Letchworth’ & ‘Best Cafe in Hertfordshire’ on Tripadvisor plus Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence award 2017/2018/2019
Hidden Gem – Robin
Great place hidden at the back of the garden centre. Great for the kids as have chickens and even Rheas! Posh coffees and sausage sandwiches. Just been refurbished inside too.
Thanks to our loyal customers, we have now been Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence winners for 3 years in a row.
Love this Place – Ruth
Always a good lunch and the owner/manager is a lovely guy. Great for a coffee, Panini and cake with a girl friend or with the kids
A Potted History – Our old potting shed – complete with ‘The Rocket’ – back in 2011
The Potting Shed Cafe in 2011 in response to listening to our customers who all felt that a cafe was exactly what was needed in the local community. The building originally was our potting shed complete with an old (and dilapidated ) greenhouse heating system (the chimney of which is still in place in our kitchen and has loving been named ‘The Rocket’.
This is our fourth visit as we buy our chicken feed from Thorne's. The food is always delicious and this visit has been no exception. I had one of the specials - cheese savoury toasty (cheese, onion, celery, pepper and carrot with mayo) and I'm going to have to try making it at home as it was such a good combination. We followed lunch up with some of their cakes and scones and a pot of tea. Perfect!
